Important Update

Pagosa Multi-Purpose Pavilion (PMPP) was founded in 2012 by a group of local enthusiasts dedicated to bringing ice sports and recreation to our community. Over the years, our all-volunteer board of directors has provided ice skating, hockey, broomball, and curling opportunities at various locations throughout town. With time and growth, our current location at South Pagosa Park has become unsustainable.
What started as a grassroots endeavor has turned into a fully realized community project with larger operational demands. We have been working hard to broaden our professional capabilities by expanding our board of directors, and improving our organizational structure. Additionally, we recently launched a capital campaign to raise $3.5 million to fund a new open-air pavilion and event center at South Yamaguchi Park. We’re proud to share that the Joint Tourism Board has pledged $500,000 toward the project, contingent upon the remainder of the funds being secured.
However, recently PMPP’s tax-exempt status was unexpectedly revoked. This unfortunate lapse occurred during a period of government shutdown, which hindered our ability to communicate with the necessary agencies and submit required filings. Please be assured that we are actively working to correct this and are fully committed to compliance. We are in the process of submitting all necessary documentation to reinstate our nonprofit status as quickly as possible. As a result, our capital fundraising campaign will be temporarily paused until our tax-exempt status is restored.
We appreciate your patience, support, and understanding during this time. PMPP remains fully committed to serving the community and making the new pavilion a reality for Pagosa Springs.
